You may be asking why physiotherapists are incorporating the principle of coupling clinical pilates and rehabilitation in their practice?
Essentially, pilates exercises utilise the traditional rehabilitation principles of stability first and then mobility.
This form of exercise rehabilitation also emphasises postural alignment, body awareness and functional fitness. During these matwork pilates classes, patients learn how to use the right muscles to perform the desired function and to maintain posture.
This leads to improved body alignment, and correspondingly reduced risk of injury.
Our sessions are run on a pilates one-on-one basis, or as a group pilates class structure limited to four people only, and are conducted by a qualified physiotherapist certified in pilates and accordingly, heath fund rebates apply.
